Dr. Huisheng Xie

Dr. Xie has 38 years of clinical, teaching, and research experience in veterinary acupuncture and TCVM. He has trained over 10,000 veterinarians to practice TCVM worldwide. Dr. Xie’s education includes advanced training in veterinary medicine, veterinary acupuncture, and human acupuncture. Dr. Xie has authored 20 books and over 100 peer-reviewed papers. His textbooks, including Xie’s Veterinary Herbology, Xie’s Veterinary Acupuncture, and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine-Fundamental Principles, have been used for TCVM training programs around the world.

Dr. Xie continues to teach and develop educational courses and programs at Chi University, serves as a full clinical professor at the University of Florida’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and is an honorary professor at China Agricultural University, South China Agricultural University, and China Southwest University.

Dr. Elizabeth Yorke

Dr. Elizabeth Yorke graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2007. She completed an internship at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in California and a residency in large animal surgery at Auburn University.  Dr. Yorke is board certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. She spent five years as an associate professor of large animal surgery at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine in Alabama prior to moving to Florida. To complement her lameness and sports medicine practice, Dr. Yorke earned her certification in equine medical manipulation (chiropractic) and acupuncture through Chi University.

Dr. Yorke's professional passion is combining her sports medicine and lameness expertise with holistic therapies such as chiropractic, acupuncture, and other rehabilitation techniques to create a happy, comfortable, and successful equine athlete. She also loves working with senior horses to maintain their comfort as they age. Along with leading the Chi Equine Medical Center, Dr. Yorke is the coordinator for Chi University's Equine Rehabilitation and Performance course and instructs in the Equine Medical Manipulation and Acupuncture courses.

Dr. Yorke and her family live on a small farm with their horses, dogs, cat, and a rose and fruit garden. A lifelong horse person, Dr. Yorke shows her horses in hunter-jumper competitions and obstacle challenges.

Renata

Equine Coordinator

Renata has been working in the horse industry for 13 years in many capacities, ranging from barn management, to teaching lessons and training horses, to working as an equine veterinary technician. She holds a bachelor's of Science in Horsemanship. In 2020, she moved to Ocala and fell in love with the natural beauty of North Central Florida and the horse community she found here. Renata has been a part of Chi University since 2022. 

When not at Chi, Renata can be found training and riding any variety of horses. She especially loves gentling mustangs, restarting OTTBs, and the pursuit of Classical Dressage. On the rare occasion she is not with horses, Renata loves spending time in and on the water.
